MSCA Organises The First Edition Of Johor Coffee Week As The Largest Coffee Festival In The Souther Region

The 4-day event will take place on 16-19 March 2023 at the Johor Bahru City Square mall, featuring two coffee competitions, an exhibition, and a specialty coffee roasting village.

Largest Coffee Festival

JOHOR, 20 FEBRUARY 2023 – The Malaysia Speacialty Coffee Association (MSCA) is organising the first edition of the Johor Coffee week, which will be the largest coffee festival ever held at the southernmost of Peninsular Malaysia to connects coffee enthusiasts and related industry together.

The event will feature two new competitions, The Malaysia Signature Beverage Championship, and the Malaysia Sample Roasting Championship, with a cash prize of RM8000 total for the winners.

Free Roasting Demonstrations & Coffee Samples

Hundreds of specialty coffee brands will be displaying their coffees and equipment with their best deals at the event, as well as a specialty coffee roasting village featuring the ten best coffee roasters in Malaysia. The village will provide free roasting demonstrations and coffee samples for visitors.

There will also be educational exhibits, giveaways, and promotions for attendees to learn about the processes behind coffee and win prizes. Visitors will get a chance to get a glimpse of a real coffee tree on display alongside a model of a giant coffee bean where they can participate in an activity to win prizes by snapping a photo of the exhibits.

“We are delighted to be bringing our flagship Coffee Week event to Johor for the first time.” Mr Kelvin Ngow Wai Hng, President of MSCA said. “The association is excited for this opportunity to spread coffee culture and promote the coffee industry in the southern region and hope to continue furthering it across the country in future editions.”

Memories in a Cup

Johor Coffee Week 2023 will follow a theme of “Memories in a Cup, aiming to capture the sentimental value of coffee in recalling nostalgic memories and bridging generations over a cup of coffee. The 4-day event will be held from 16 to 19 March 2023 at Johor Bahru City Square, Level 1 Atrium.

Johor Coffee Week 2023 has also attracted notable brands as sponsors, such as DaVinci Gourmet, Vitasoy, BWT, Dankoff Coffee Specialist, Bero Coffee Singapore, Claytan Fine China, and Brewsmith.
